7BEANS ROASTERS
A LEGACY ROOTED IN COFFEE & COMMUNITY
Coffee has been a part of India’s heritage for centuries, and our name- 7 Beans Roasters- pays tribute to the legendary Baba Budan. In the 17th century, Baba Budan, a Sufi saint, smuggled seven coffee beans from the Arabian Peninsula into India, planting the first seeds of coffee cultivation in the country. His act of defiance against trade restrictions shaped India’s coffee culture, inspiring generations of farmers. Our brand carries forward this spirit- bold, pioneering, and deeply rooted in tradition.

OUR STORY

Where
We Come From
Nestled in the lush, misty hills of Wayanad, our estate sits at an altitude of 3,000+ feet, cultivating premium Arabica and Robusta coffee. What makes our coffee truly special is not just its rich flavor but the hands that grow it. Our estate is home to a dedicated community of farmers, many of whom belong to the tribal communities of Wayanad, continuing a tradition that goes beyond farming- it’s about survival, empowerment, and sustainability.
Bringing Coffee
from Farm to Cup
The idea of taking our coffee directly from farm to cup was championed by Anas, a key partner in our journey. With a commitment to transparency and ethical sourcing, he envisioned a brand where farmers receive their fair share, and customers experience coffee in its purest form- fresh, authentic, and straight from the source.
At 7 Beans Roasters, every cup tells a story of history, passion and a promise to make coffee fair for the ones who grow it.
“Farm to Cup.” That’s our commitment. That’s our journey.
The Founder’s
Vision
The story of 7 Beans Roasters begins with P.D Mathai, a visionary who migrated to Wayanad years ago with a mission- not just to cultivate coffee but to uplift the tribal communities. In a time of economic growth across the country, many tribal farmers were left struggling. Mr. OG stepped in, creating opportunities through coffee farming, ensuring fair wages and a sustainable livelihood for them.
Today, his legacy is carried forward by Antony and his son, Mathew, who continue to honor his vision- growing coffee with integrity and keeping the focus on fair trade, sustainability, and quality.
